Northeastern’s campus can get a bit quiet during finals. If you need an entertaining study break or are sticking around for a bit once yours are done, there are plenty of things to do around the city to keep you entertained. There’s Frog Pond, where you can ice skate or just people watch; Downtown Crossing, which has shopping and live music; and so much more! Boston.com’s list of free things to do can keep you entertained for a while, until you have to hit the books again or you have to go home for the holidays.
As always, Wednesday Well-Being Guided Meditation will take place December 14 from 3-3:30pm in The Sacred Space. This guided meditation session lasts a half-hour, and is a great way to experience the profound benefits of meditation on the mind, body and spirit. Cushions/chairs provided. Please arrive on time so as not to disturb the meditation of others.
If you’re looking for a little more intellectual stimulation, the Open Classroom Series: The Role of Government in the 21st Century will be held from 6-8pm in West Village F, Room 20. This graduate-level policy seminar is open to the public free of charge. This unique lecture will facilitate discourse on important issues facing us today. Have one last academic hurrah before your mind abandons all critical thought for lounging with family and a thousand episodes of “The Wire”.
